It’s the largest urban forest of the world, it has 3,200 hectares (acres) and it mixes a variety of the fauna and flora which are only found in the Atlantic Forest. Full of stories and interesting things, Tijuca’s Forest has interesting spots and historical attractions which should be visited.
Itinerary: Pick up at the Hotel - stop at the Hang Gliding Spot (Mountain), trail to the Forest, stopping at the following spots, Cascatinha Taunay (waterfall) it is the biggest waterfall of the forest, Mayrinks Chapel, built in 1850, Açude da Solidão(Loneliness Dike), where we can see fish, turtles and a variety of birds, Emperor’s table, Vista Chinesa (Chinese Sightseeing) e Cachoeira dos Macaco’s (Monkey’s Waterfall).
One of the symbols of Carioca’s tourism, was the first cable car built in Brazil and the third built in the world. It was launched on October the 27th 1912, it has already taken more than 31 million tourists.
This cable car is considered one of the safest of the world by the international entities responsible for cable cars, in 90 years it has functioned perfectly with no records of accidents.

2 - Urca Hill (220m)
It has an easy going access through the forest up to the base, where we get the cable car up
to the Sugar Loaf.

3 - Trail to the Coast of the Sugar Loaf (396m)
We’ll walk until the top of the mountain, the trail begins at the end of the Claudio Coutinho runway and goes up to the east side of the mountain, there we can see the Atlantic Ocean and the Guanabara Bay, forming a wilderness blue beauty.
There is a short part of the mountain climbing which is considered easy for the ones who have experience (8m) and ideal for beginners. We use all the safety equipment needed and the procedures used by the best mountain climbers. We’ll come down in the cable car until the Sugar Loaf.

You must visit the Christ if you come to Rio, the statue was launched on October the 12th 1931, since then it has become one of the greatest symbols of Rio de Janeiro’s city. It is located on the Corcovardo Mountain, 709 meters high, the Christ itself has 30m height and 8 meters wide. In 2007, it was elected one of the 7 new amazing beauties of the world.
From the feet of the monument, the visitors have the opportunity of contemplating the marvelous beautiful different angles of the Guanabara Bay, Downtown of Rio, South Zone, Maracanã soccer field and the Tijuca Forest. Not mentioning the beautiful beaches which are seen as well. The overview seen from the feet of the Christ Statue surely confirms the reason why Rio de Janeiro is world wide known as a marvelous city.
In January 2003, overview elevators were installed and escalators, this way the visitors don’t have to face the 220 steps anymore in order to enjoy the extraordinary view.

Santa Teresa is a district located on a hill at the heart of the city, it is charmy, it was built in the XVIII century, nowadays it is a stronghold of plastic artists, musicians and intellectuals. Another particular characteristic of Santa Teresa is the tram. It is the only place of Rio de Janeiro in which you can feel a romantic and nostalgic atmosphere.
Santa Teresa is one of the most desired tours because it gathers a number of pleasant attractions, such as: Parque das Ruinas, Museu Chácara de Céu and the tram Museum.

Macumba, Pepino, Prainha and Grumari are considered the most beautiful beaches of the city, they are ideal for kite Surf, Windsurf etc. Located at the west part of the City in between the ocean and the forest, many people who practice adventure sports go to these beaches. Around these beaches we can find many sea food restaurants with delicious dishes.
